Confirm or cancel with a tap
The message has Confirm order and Cancel order buttons. Delivery of the message alone never counts as confirmation; only the customer's tap does.
COD order confirmation on WhatsApp
CommercePing sends each cash on delivery order a WhatsApp message with the order number, the total and two buttons: Confirm order and Cancel order. It works with Shopify and WooCommerce, and the message comes from your own WhatsApp Business number. The goal is fewer failed COD deliveries.
CommercePing is not yet open for public sign-up.
How COD verification works
A customer places a cash on delivery order. They get one WhatsApp message and answer with a tap. Their answer appears in your store.
Reminder after 3 hours
If there is no answer, the customer gets one reminder after 3 hours by default. You can change the hours or turn reminders off.
Unconfirmed after 24 hours
With no reply after 24 hours by default, the order is marked Unconfirmed and a task is raised for your staff. You can change the deadline.
Cancel from WhatsApp
When the customer taps Cancel and the setting is on (it is on by default), an unfulfilled order is cancelled in your store and its stock is restored. Shipped or fulfilled orders are not cancelled; they become a staff task.
Optional auto-cancel
You can also have unconfirmed, unfulfilled COD orders cancelled at the deadline. This is off by default.
Pay online instead
A COD order can be sent a message with a Pay now link, so the customer can choose to pay online instead of cash on delivery.
When a reply needs a person
Free-text replies, help requests and edited orders create an issue for your staff, plus one alert email. A repeated reply has no extra effect. An order with no usable phone number becomes a "confirm by phone" task.
WhatsApp COD confirmation for Shopify and WooCommerce
Shopify
Install the CommercePing app on your Shopify store, connect your own WhatsApp Business number through Meta Embedded Signup and turn on COD confirmation.
WooCommerce
Install the CommercePing plugin in your WordPress admin, connect your WhatsApp Business number the same way and turn on COD confirmation.
